Temanggung robusta
Temanggung in Central Java is a registered robusta origin on the slopes between two volcanoes. It is grown higher than most robusta, in a district better known for tobacco, and it trades as a speciality lot rather than as commodity volume.

Registered for Central Java. It is one of a small number of robusta origins on the register, most of which are treated as commodity coffee.
What makes it different.
- Robusta at altitude
- Grown high on the slopes of Sindoro and Sumbing, which is unusual for the species and is what growers credit for the cup.
- Tobacco is the main crop
- Temanggung is a tobacco district first, and coffee shares the ground and the labour. It shapes when the crop gets attention.
- Speciality volumes
- This is lot-scale coffee for roasters who want a robusta with an origin story, not container-scale material for instant production.
- Java logistics
- Semarang is close and sailings are frequent, which makes small lots practical to ship in a way they are not from eastern Indonesia.

Why would I buy a speciality robusta?
For espresso blends that want body and crema without the harshness of commodity robusta, and for roasters who want a single-origin robusta with a verifiable name. It is a small trade and it is a real one.
How is this different from Lampung robusta?
Scale and intent. Lampung is the volume origin feeding instant coffee manufacture, contracted on defect counts and screen size. Temanggung is grown higher, sold in lots, and bought by roasters who taste it first. The species is the only thing they have in common.
Is availability reliable?
It is a small origin in a district whose main business is tobacco, so quantity is limited and it varies. Plan purchasing early in the season and expect to contract a lot rather than a standing volume.

Five per cent of the order value, paid by you and never by the factory. A factory audit starts at $250 depending on location. We work with orders from $10,000 per shipment.
