- Follow the certification rather than the country, since the certified supply base differs by product.
- Supply continuity matters most
- Consider qualifying a supplier in each. It is the cheapest insurance in this category.

Which country has better coconut?
Neither, at the country level. Processing quality, certification and consistency vary far more between two factories in the same country than between the two countries, so judge the processor.
Should I dual source?
For anything you sell continuously, yes. Both origins face weather and crop risk, and a qualified alternate costs almost nothing to maintain compared with a supply gap.
Does the origin matter for my label?
It affects origin marking and any preference claim you make at customs, which are rules of origin questions rather than marketing ones. Settle them with your broker.
