Tulungagung marble
Tulungagung in East Java is Indonesia's established marble working district, with quarries and a dense cluster of cutting and carving workshops in the same area. A great deal of what leaves is worked here rather than quarried here, which is a distinction buyers should establish early.

- The unusual feature is the concentration: extraction, sawing, carving and polishing all sit within one district, which shortens lead times and makes small runs practical.
- Local stone and imported blocks
- Workshops process imported blocks alongside local material. If the origin of the stone matters to you commercially, ask, because the workshop's address does not answer it.
- Onyx and travertine
- The district works several decorative stones beyond marble, which is why a supplier's catalogue here spans more material types than a single quarry could support.
- Handwork at scale
- Carving and inlay capability is real and it is manual, so consistency across a large order is a specification and sampling question rather than a machine setting.

- Marble travels in bespoke wooden crates on frames. How it is crated decides whether it arrives, and the wood packaging carries its own treatment requirement.

Is the stone Indonesian?
Some of it, and the district also processes imported blocks. Ask where the block came from if origin matters for your marketing or for a rules of origin claim, because the working takes place here either way.
How is marble shipped?
In purpose-built crates on frames, and because stone is dense the container reaches its weight limit long before it fills. Plan the costing on payload rather than on volume.
Can I order small quantities?
The workshop cluster makes small and bespoke runs more practical than a quarry-only supply chain would. Consistency across a hand-worked order is the thing to control, so approve a reference sample.
What does your service cost?
Five per cent of the order value, paid by you and never by the factory. A factory audit starts at $250 depending on location. We work with orders from $10,000 per shipment.
