Is Qatar too small to bother with?
It is small in volume and high in value, and the hospitality sector buys to a specification rather than to a price. For fine fragrance materials, agarwood above all, it is one of the most serious markets in the world.
Are Gulf standards the same as Saudi requirements?
They share a regional standards base and the national implementation differs, including the conformity certificate each country requires. Do not assume paperwork accepted in one Gulf state clears another.
What sells best here?
Fine aromatic materials, quality coffee and spices for the hospitality trade, and furniture and fit-out for hotel and residential projects. The common thread is specification rather than price.
